Use the energy from the cloud in a targeted and sustainable manner

Cloud computing or computer cloud describes the approach of making abstract IT infrastructure (computing capacity, data storage, network capacities or ready-to-use software) available via a network, dynamically adapted to requirements. From the user's point of view, the abstracted IT infrastructure made available appears distant and opaque, as if from a "cloud".
Architecture as a 3-layer model
The easiest way to imagine the model (picture on the right) is as a computer consisting of a processor, main memory, hard disk and various programs. Private individuals and companies can now access the individual IT services from the various layers via intranet or internet and only pay for what they actually need or have ordered. In this context, the terms IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service) and SaaS (Software as a Service) are often used.

A cloud is not just a cloud

If services are made available using a company's own IT infrastructure, this is referred to as a so-called private cloud . ISP IT services come from the public cloud and the combination of both types can be referred to as hybrid cloud . Regardless of the forms used, the main characteristics of cloud services from the end customer's perspective always remain the same:
  • Flexible in terms of time and content
  • rent instead of investing
  • only use, do not operate
